Thieves break into Michael Hall’s car

Date published: 28 November 2017

Michael Hall is speaking out after thieves broke into his car, and left a trail of destructive vandalism in their wake.

Thieves smashed their way into the black Vauxhall whilst it was parked outside The King of Kings School, near the Co-op building in Manchester on 24 November whilst Michael was watching a film at the Printworks.

Michael, from Middleton, said: “I parked on Aspin Lane under a street light across from the school as it's where I always park when I go into town. I got back to my car around 2am with my friend. Both of the windows on the left side of the car were smashed in, back seats pulled back and everything stolen from the car. The whole car was covered in glass and the inside damaged due to the weather. “

He continued: “CSI couldn't find any blood or finger prints in the vehicle. The rest of the cars on the street were also smashed and broken into, and the public should be made aware. It’s very upsetting news so close to Christmas, and I'm out of pocket for the items I need to replace and the repairs that now need carrying out.

After smashing their way into the car, the thieves made off with a SuperDry bag containing Michael’s work gear, earphones, a charger and a red beanie hat, a blue HP laptop with Fallout stickers on, a NextBase 101 dash cam, which was recording at the time, two zippo lighters with “war never changes” and ‘VideoGuys101’ on it and various other contents of the car.

The thieves also stole a small quantity of money, an airsoft pistol and a battery pack, and are understood to have targeted every car on the street, which had been broken into in a similar manner.

Michael added: “The car does not feel like mine any more knowing all my belongings have gone from it.”

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were called at 2am on 24 November, where a car has been broken into on Aspin Lane sometime between 11pm and 1.50am.

“The windows were smashed and number of items have been taken, including a laptop and dashcam.”
