The Mayor and Mayoress of Whitworth, Alan and Mrs Janet Neal, testing out the custom made camper van prop
Whitworth came out in force and went all retro for charity, there were fab costumes all around inspired by the Mods and Flower Power on Saturday 21 October.
Howard Wilkinson was the resident photographer taking group portraits and guests were also able to take selfies with the life-size custom-made campervan prop.
The campervan prop had been made especially for the event by local firm Creation Signs and local artist Lindsay Fairhurst donated her time busily face-painting and arm painting the party goers.
The evening featured live music from the band ‘Off the Record’ and they kept the dance floor busy throughout the evening.
The best costume prizes went to Gill Hastewell, Sam Ashworth and Sian Beeson and the prize for the grooviest moves went to Kirsty Ward.
The event raised £793 pounds towards the Mayor’s Charity Fund.
The funds will be distributed to local groups at the end of their Mayoral year in May.
