Public meeting at St Mary’s Church to discuss concerns about controversial Dean Farm development

Date published: 11 October 2017

A public meeting for residents to discuss their concerns about the Dean Farm development at Badger Lane will take place at 5pm on Tuesday 17 October at St Mary's Church, Balderstone.

In July, Rochdale Online reported on concerns raised by residents of nearby Gilbrook Way after they received revised plans for the proposed development, including wildlife and flooding.

In April 2015, Rochdale Council granted outline planning permission for 70 dwellings at Dean Farm on Badger Lane ‘subject to conditions’ – despite opposition from local residents and the Leader of the Council, Councillor Richard Farnell.

This was revised earlier this year to now build around 54 residential homes on the site, extending the Pennine Gate development. The houses would be a combination of three and four bed semi-detached and detached houses, accessed via Pennine Gate rather than the original route via Gilbrook Way.
