Woolworth's Club concerned about 'fake news'

Date published: 09 October 2017

Woolworth's Social Club in Castleton has apparently been targeted by 'fake news'. An entry on the social media site Facebook indicates that the club has "closed down".

Frank Salt speaking for the committee of 'Woollies Club' said: “That the club has received phone calls from worried members and people who have booked functions.

"Woollies is a family club with generations of families enjoying the facilities.

“No one connected with the club has put this entry onto Facebook, but we have now put an entry up for the club and will be seeking contact with the owners of Facebook to remove the false statement."
