The half marathon started at the town hall along The Esplanade and along the edge of Broadfield Park, before heading through Deeplish to the Rochdale Canal at Oldham Road Basin.

The half marathon runners then headed past Kingsway Business Park and Smithy Bridge along the canal.

Close to the Waterside Restaurant the runners left the tow path and headed up Hollingworth Road towards Hollingworth Lake, making a clockwise loop of the lake, before returning down Hollingworth Road and back on to the canal.

The runners then retraced their outward route from the Town Hall until they reached Broadfield Park, to go through the park before rejoining The Esplanade for the final sprint to the finish line.

The 10K runners followed the same route as the half marathon on to the canal, but left the canal at the swing bridge at Kingsway Business Park, making a loop of cycle ways, before returning to the canal and the same finishing route as the half marathon.

The fun runners also set out from Rochdale Town Hall and having tackled a challenging climb up past the John Bright statue they entered the award winning historic grounds of Braodfield Park. Once having reached the bandstand in the park, the fun runners could relax a little as the rest of th route was all downhill to The Esplanade for the return to the finish line at the Town Hall.
