Hare Hill House raises over £1,000 for Macmillan

Date published: 07 October 2017

Hare Hill House raised over £1,000 from a Macmillan coffee morning.

Mayor Ian Duckworth, local councillors and members of the local community attended.

Organised by the Heroes of Hare Hill House the event included Brave the Shave' and a 'Trash the Tash'. Volunteers Michael Bamford, Iain Bowden and Richard Simpson had their hair shaved by local gents hairdresser, Louise Tierney.

The folically challenged Peter Reed could not take part and instead shaved off the moustache he has sported for the past 45 years.

A provisional estimate of the total raised at the event is over £1,000 - double last year's figure.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: "We would like to extend their thanks to all who supported the event."
