Project sets out to capture Kashmiri stories in Greater Manchester

The launch of the Kashmiri Lives project, which took place on Monday, was an opportunity for the audience to find out about the project which aims to document the stories of the Kashmiri community in Greater Manchester across three generations.

The event was hosted by Project Manager, Faheem Chishti, there was a presentation by Shams Rehman, the Project Co-ordinator and a speech by Councillor Daalat Ali.

Councillor Ali said: “The project will help to inform the discourse about the community.”

The event was also attended by Councilllor Sameena Zaheer, Haji Akram the Chairman of Kashmir Development Foundation and Javed Akhtar, Chairman of Rochdale Kashmiri Association in addition to community members.
