'Thanks for the Harvest' - taking a wider view of harvest

Date published: 04 October 2017

‘Thanks for the Harvest’ is an exhibition that explores what harvest can mean from a spiritual perspective, the history behind Harvest celebrations and the importance of harvest today.

Local business are being invited to send in a display about what they produce that contributes to the economy and livelihoods in Rochdale.

The display can include a sample of what you produce, advertising material, leaflets, posters or A-boards.

Rev Margaret Smith, Rochdale Town Centre Chaplain said: “We wanted to take a wider view of what ‘harvest’ is, not just fruit and vegetables, but the harvest of workers hands and minds.

“There will be some interactive displays from churches about harvest alongside displays from some manufacturing and production companies from Rochdale.

“Schools are also invited to produce harvest posters or artefacts to send in.

“If a representative of your business can attend they would be really welcome, but we understand the pressures of work, and we appreciate that you may only be able to send some display materials."

The display materials must be delivered to the Town Hall by 10.00am on Monday 16 October or be ready by Thursday 12 October for collection by the organisers.

The exhibition will be open from 1.00pm to 7.30pm, Monday 16 October in Rochdale Town Hall and the public are very welcome to attend.
