Please note that the old pound coins are going out of circulation and will not be legal tender from Sunday 15 October. In school we will NOT be accepting the old pound coins from Monday 9 October. Please make sure that no dinner/trip money has them in as it will be returned to yourself to change. Thank you.

Our new KS1 reading mascot has had a fabulous week with the children and has loved all their stories – parents keep an eye out for him this week – he might be coming home with your child!

Re-issuing the same message as last week: - Parents who pass school gates at lunchtime/playtime, please do not approach the school gates to beckon children over. This is to safeguard all children in school.

The children in Upper Key Stage Two have had their bikeability training this week. The instructors all reported on how well behaved and sensible our children were (as usual!!). Well done Year 6 who have been awarded Citizens of the week.

On Monday 26 September the children in Year 6 went on an Educational Visit to Stockport Air Raid shelters. They enjoyed a day of role play as children in World War 2 and were able to empathise with what the war meant to children and families. The children, again, behaved beautifully.

Mrs Booth recently organised an exciting trip to Manchester Museum The children thoroughly enjoyed visiting the three Egyptian Worlds and learning lots of new facts.

Pupils, keep an eye out at the school gate in the morning on Monday for an exciting visitor to school who will be marking the launch of a new initiative for the Hamer Community.

Well done to Mr Nadin’s Class with the best attendance for week ending 22 September 2017.
