Hopwood Hall College staff raise funds for Alzheimer's Society at Gauntlet Games

Date published: 28 September 2017

Lecturers and business support staff at Hopwood Hall College entered the ‘Hopwood Rivals’ team in the Manchester’s Gauntlet Games and raised over £600 for Alzheimer's Society taking on the 5km long assault course held in Heaton Park.

Tackling the see-saw planks, monkey rails, belly slides, wall jumps, ropes, tunnels, webs and water pools on behalf of the college were brothers Luke and Sam Webster, who work as apprentices in the college’s human resources and marketing departments respectively.

Sam Webster said: “I am really proud of the college’s charitable achievements last year, we definitely made a positive impact in the community. If making a fool of myself in the mud at these games helps contribute to another year of that, then I am more than happy to do so.”

His older brother Luke similarly said of his team’s efforts: “It was a great day out and I would definitely recommend the games to anybody else looking to do something charitable and fun. I would like to thank all the people who helped us kick start another year of fundraising.”
