Springy, the hospice mascot, receives a cheque from Mark Twain regulars
The Mark Twain pub Summer Fete raised over £6,000 for Springhill Hospice.
Generous donations of raffle prizes and items for auction, coins in the bottle, and a £1 donation on the first pint swelled the collecting coffers and what had seemed an unbeatable total from last year's event was beaten with £6,283.25 being raised.
Hospice mascot Springy went along to thank everyone involved.
Barbara Lloyd, Hospice, community support fundraiser, said: “Like us we are sure that even Mark Twain himself would find it hard to fathom such incredible generosity.
"We are very grateful for all the support that has been given. We would like to thank everyone involved.”
