Bilal Iqbal top Kingsway Park GCSE performer

Bilal Iqbal was Kingsway Park school’s top achieving GCSE student. Billal gained two grade 9s and ten A8s and As.

He said: “I am very pleased with my results. I am excited to go to sixth form.” Billal is going to study Maths, Physics and Computer Science A levels at Rochdale Sixth Form.

Fizzah Farooq got one grade 9 and nine A to A*s. Fizzah said: I am shell shocked. I have done better than I expected..

Head boy, Aleksis Valantins came to the UK aged 10 from Lithuania and joined Kingsway Park in year 8. He said: “I am going on to Rochdale Sixth Form College to study double Business Studies and Biology A levels.”

Roger John got a grade 9 in English Literature and ten passes. He said: “I am pleased with my results and I’m excited to go on to Rochdale Sixth Form College to do A levels in English Literature, History and Law.”

Hafsa Mustafvi said: “I feel proud of myself. I worked hard for these results." Hafsa is going to Rochdale Sixth Form to study Biology, Chemistry and Psychology.

Christopher Kolbuck, Assistant Headteacher, said: We are pleased to be able to celebrate some exceptional results for students at Kingsway Park High School. A number of our students achieved grade 9 in Mathematics and English, placing them amongst the top academic achievers nationally. This is testament to the hard work and commitment of the staff and students at Kingsway Park High School.

"Under the new more rigorous examination system of 9-1 for English and Maths, we can report that students achieved their expected grades, enabling them to progress to further study.

"Following a successful Ofsted visit together with 93% of our students leaving our school with GCSE qualifications in eight or more subjects, we can now look forward to our journey to becoming an outstanding school."
