More charges after dawn drugs raids in Heywood

A further 14 people have been charged after police in Rochdale raided several addresses in Heywood earlier this week.

The raids were designed to crackdown on the distribution of class A drugs in the area, and are the result of an intelligence-lead operation codenamed Operation Bluebeard.

Warrants were executed at over 20 addresses, and 100 mobile phones were recovered.

Officers searching the addresses also seized two cars and a quantity of drugs.

A total of 23 people arrested on suspicion of drugs offences during the two strike days have now been charged.

The following people were all charged with supplying class A drugs yesterday, Wednesday 21 November, and appeared before magistrates in Rochdale this morning, Thursday 22 November:

  • John Keatings (born 28/08/57) of Rainsdale Flats, Heywood.
  • Michael Roberts (born 30/05/67) of George Street, Heywood.
  • Warren Taylor (born 16/05/72) of Fletcher Close, Heywood.
  • Dean Tymkiw (born 14/02/69) of Walton Close, Heywood.
  • James Ainsley (born 05/09/88) of Edgeworth Close, Heywood.
  • Sean Forrest (born 19/05/87) of no fixed abode.
  • Dean Moore (born 18/05/88) of Yew Street, Heywood.
  • Joanne Jones (born 09/04/83) of no fixed abode.
  • David Milner (born 08/06/81) of Carlton Flats, Heywood.
  • Austin Flynn (born 16/10/69) of Excelsior Gardens, Heywood.
  • Adeel Mansoor (born 16/12/88) of Heights Lane, Rochdale.
  • Tracey Thompson (born 21/05/64) of Whalley Road, Heywood.

Mohammed Qabir (born 31/10/82) of no fixed abode was charged with possession of a class A drug with intent to supply. He too was charged yesterday.

A 15-year-old girl from Heywood has also been charged with supplying class A drugs and appeared at Rochdale Youth Court this morning, Thursday 22 November 2007.

Nine other people were charged with class A drugs offences on Tuesday 20 November 2007, and appeared before magistrates yesterday.
