Man in serious condition after fall from M62 motorway bridge

A man is in a serious condition after falling from a motorway bridge on the M62 near to junction 19 for Heywood on Thursday (10 August) morning.
Police were called at around 10.15am to reports that a man was on the wrong side of a bridge on the M62.
Emergency services attended and discovered a man had fallen from the bridge. He is in a serious condition.
Highways England said the motorway was closed both ways with diversions put in place, and roads surrounding the motorway also shut.
Both carriageways of the motorway were reopened at about 12.25pm.
