Date published: 09 August 2017

Three were taken to hospital following a six-vehicle collision on Queensway in the early hours of Wednesday (9 August) morning.

One patient has been taken to Royal Oldham hospital after being immobilised on a stretcher.

A male in his late 20s was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary with a leg injury and hip pain.

A third patient was taken to Salford Hospital with potential major trauma.

A fourth patient was treated by paramedics after complaints of neck pain but was not taken to hospital.

Four of the vehicles involved were parked at the side of the road including a black Mitsubishi Colt and a silver Volkswagen Polo. The other two vehicles were a white Skoda Octavia taxi and a silver Audi RS4 FSI Quattro.

A section of Queensway from Oldham Road to Gorrells Way was closed, but has since reopened.
