Cash-strapped Rochdale Borough Council has paid Chester-based marketing consultants, Elygra £50,000 to 'rebrand' school dining rooms and kitchen areas.
The news comes after Rochdale Online revealed last week that the Council paid a staggering £12,000 to a Hull-based company for a 97 second promotional film to "show its vision of Rochdale".

Peter Gurney, Rochdale Borough Council’s facilities management cleaning & catering manager, said: “Our school catering team have worked with Elygra to rebrand our school dining rooms and kitchen areas as ‘Fresh Kitchen’. This includes new menus and uniforms, tips on healthy eating, nutritional values and food themed days.
"As well as providing good quality nutritious meals, Fresh Kitchen work with schools to educate children and their parents about the importance of good nutrition.
"We have already launched this exciting new brand with four schools, ensuring a healthy, high quality school meal service food for children of all ages to enjoy.”
