New windows and doors transform the old Carnegie Library in Castleton
Date published: 26 July 2017
The old Carnegie Library in Castleton continues to be renovated and it now has new windows and a new door. External lighting has been fixed over the front door and on the side of the building.
The Friends of Carnegie Castleton said: “The external work is pretty much complete, and is looking better than anticipated.
“The internal refurbishment cannot begin until the remaining wooden roof trusses have been chemically teated to prevent wood rot.
“After this is done, there has to be a waiting period, for health and safety reasons, because it is a chemical process.”
