The Littleborough Rushbearing Parade started with dancing at Wine Press, then parading to the festival in The Square on Sunday (23 July).
Groups included Oakenhoof, Rossendale Clog Heritage, Horich Prize Medal Morris Men, 400 Roses, Ryburn Three Step, Theiving Magpies and Les Pannards Dansants.
The sun shone on the parade and the dancing in the Market Square.
Rochdale MP Tony Lloyd said: “Great day out. Families enjoying the rushbearing traditiongoes back to mediaeval times. Rushes locally sourced.”
Councillor Janet Emsley added: “Had a brilliant time at Littleborough Rushbearing. It’s a fabulous day.”
Littleborough Rushbearing was revived in 1991 by Rochdale Morris with the help of Littleborough Action Group and has become an important part of Littleborough’s calendar of events.
It is now organised by LEAF in conjunction with Littleborough Oakenhoof Cloggers.
