A New Vision for Ealees...

Date published: 22 March 2006

An exciting new development is being proposed for the regeneration of the Ealees area of Littleborough and a public exhibition of plans is set for the end of March. Rochdale Development Agency and Brother Developments have been working together to bring forward the redevelopment of the Ealees area and plans will be displayed at Littleborough Coach House on the 30 March, 31 March, 1 April 2006.

Proposals include a family pub, tapas restaurant, a retail unit, a community facility for use by Littleborough Historical & Archaeological Society, 42 apartments, and a high quality public space for events and outdoor eating.

The opening times of the Public Exhibition are Thursday 30 March 2006 – 11am until 4pm, Friday 31 March 2006 – 11am until 4pm, Saturday 1 April 2006 – 11am until 2pm. Representatives of Brother Developments and CJ Partnership Architects will be available between 11am and 1pm on each of these days to discuss plans.

John Boys of Brother Developments said: "We have worked hard to produce a scheme that is both viable and responds to feedback that we received on the initial scheme. The scheme offers use of the adjacent railway station for those occupiers wishing to commute to work by rail, yet live in a pleasant environment with strong community links".

John Hudson, Chief Executive of Rochdale Development Agency said: “These new plans offer an exciting, attractive and viable option and is the most imaginative canalside scheme we have been involved with. I am sure that if approved, the new development will be an asset that the people of Littleborough will feel proud of.”

Feedback forms will be available at the venue.
