Hornets turn up and play festivals for school chidren

Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation
Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation will be holding turn up and play festivals throughout the months of May and June for children (boys and girls) in school years one, two and three.
The festivals will be five-a-side contact and all abilities are welcome, with coaching assistance from qualified foundation coaches throughout the festivals.
It all kicks off on Wednesday 3 May at Hopwood Hall 6pm-7pm and will be turn up and play, with the Foundation’s community team and Hopwood Hall students running the festivals.
Participants will be put into teams of five and will roll on and off with a pitch allocated for each age group.
A spokesman said: "Coaches and families are welcome to attend and watch the action and established local teams are also welcome to attend and play in the festivals.
"The festivals are perfect for beginners, as new and young children will play a shortened format of the game which will allow them to develop skills and understanding in a small game situation
"Each player who takes part in a festival will receive a free Sky Try Hornets Foundation rugby ball, so make sure you turn up, play and enjoy rugby league."
