Mohammed Asif Din has had his practising certificate suspended with immediate effect from 22 March, following an intervention by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
The Adjudication Panel decided to intervene in Mr Din’s practices at Dean Solicitors Ltd (Rochdale and Bradford), Sovereign Solicitors (Bury) and Shire Solicitors (Bradford) on the ground that there is reason to suspect dishonesty by Mr Din in connection with his practices at these firms.
Mr Din, who was admitted as a solicitor in April 1997, practiced the following areas: conveyancing (residential), debit and bankruptcy (personal), debt recovery, employment, immigration (nationality and citizenship), litigation (general), personal injury.
In an intervention the SRA closes a solicitor’s practice immediately in order to protect clients’ interests. After a firm has been intervened, it can no longer act for its clients.
The intervention resolution does not apply to Mr Din’s partners at the three firms: Ismail Patel, Shameem Ali-Iqbal and Sarah Khan-Bashir. Dean Solicitors Ltd (Rochdale and Bradford), Sovereign Solicitors (Bury) and Shire Solicitors (Bradford) all continue to operate.
