Police no longer investigating death of a woman at Alder Road

Police are no longer investigating the death of a woman in Castleton after she was found unresponsive at a house on Alder Road shortly before 2.55pm on Monday 27 February.

A 50-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has since been released without charge.

Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead.

A Home Office post-mortem examination took place and concluded that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

Detective Inspector Chris Mannion of GMP’s Rochdale Borough, said: “As our enquiries have continued, we have determined that there are no suspicious circumstances.

“My thoughts remain with her family at this challenging time and I’d like to thank the public for their patience as we have continued our enquiries.”

Police were called at around 3pm on Saturday 25 February 2017 to reports that the body of a man had been found at an address on Alder Road, Rochdale.
