Car in collision with police van - Littleborough

Shortly after 2.25am Thursday 16 February 2006, police attempted to stop a car on Todmorden Road in Littleborough.
The blue Rover failed to stop and officers began to follow the vehicle in a fully liveried police car with emergency equipment activated.
The car drove off in the direction of Lancashire but turned around and came back down Todmorden Road into Littleborough where it was in collision with a police van, which was not involved in the pursuit.
The police driver was taken to Rochdale Infirmary with minor injuries. He has since been discharged.
A 22-year-old man, who is believed to have been driving the Rover, was also taken to Rochdale Infirmary with serious injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
