Date published: 14 February 2006

Detectives in Rochdale are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a petrol station in Littleborough over the weekend.

The incident happened between 8.30am and 8.40am on Sunday 12 February 2006.

As a member of staff was opening the door to an office annexe at the BP Supermart on Church Street, two masked men followed her inside and started demanding money.

One of the offenders pointed a sawn-off shotgun at the 42-year-old. The other man then told the gunman to shoot the woman in the foot, but he did not do this.

The men searched the office and the woman's handbag and stole a small quantity of cash. They left the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The woman was not physically injured but was left extremely shaken by the incident. No shots were fired and no vehicle was seen.

The man with the gun is described as white, approximately 5ft 7in tall, between 18 and 24 years old and of slender build. He was wearing a light blue tracksuit top and bottoms and a light blue balaclava with the eyes and mouth cut out.

The other man is described as white, of slender build, approximately 5ft 6in tall, between 18 and 24 years old, with tanned skinned. He was wearing a black balaclava, a charcoal tracksuit top and black tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact CID at Rochdale on 0161 856 4644 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
