Jobcentre closures won’t affect Rochdale Borough

Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton Jobcentres and offices won’t be affected by the Department of Work and Pensions plans to close 78 Jobcentres across the UK.

The Department of Work and Pensions has announced plans to close 78 Jobcentres across the UK with a further 80 to be co-located to other buildings.

According to the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), 14 Jobcentres are due to close across the North West with a further nine co-locating. 30 of 150 offices are also due to close across the country, with a further 40 guaranteed to remain open for three to five years.

Over 700 offices will be retained.
