The new ‘bay’ platform at Rochdale Station, platform four, has opened.
It is understood the platform was cleared for services on the 28 October and on Monday 31 October a group of STORM members returning from an outing to Eccles caught the 22:50 Blackburn service, and it terminated at platform four at Rochdale due to overnight engineering works.
A spokesperson said: "To the surprise of our members the service terminated on platform four, the new bay, and was due to depart again in the path of the last up Blackburn to Manchester Victoria."
