Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 07 November 2016

We are joining thousands of other schools across the country in the fantastic campaign “Operation Christmas Child” run by the charity ‘Samaritans Purse’. Please look out for the letter which will be sent home with more details.

Places are available for children across the whole of school in our Breakfast Club. Following feedback from parents we have extended the hours for this and you can now drop your children off from 8:00am (if they require a breakfast please ensure children arrive before 8.30am.) The price remains the same as last year at only £1 per day, this is exceptional value in comparison to other providers in the area. Payment needs to be made in advance for the half term to secure your child’s place, please see the school office for further details.

The children all looked incredibly smart on Friday, when having their photographs taken. The proofs and order forms will have now been sent home. Please can parents return the completed order forms, in sealed envelopes, to school by Friday 11 November.

A number of parents have been asking about E-safety, so Mr Nadin & Mrs Coward will be holding a parent session on this subject on Wednesday 9th November at 8:50am. This will be held in the family room at the front of school.

This week, our group of Community Cohesion Ambassadors hosted the latest session with their colleagues from Marland Hill & Lowerplace. They worked very well as always and even assisted their visitors when a fire drill interrupted the session. Great work!

We are aware that a few parents didn’t meet with their child’s class teacher in the meetings held before half term. If this is the case, then teachers will be contacting parents over the next week. Miss Holden will also be holding the meetings for children in her class next week.
