Have your say on the Taylor Wimpey proposal to build new homes at Hollin Lane and Langley Lane

Date published: 04 November 2016

Taylor Wimpey has released details of its proposal to build over 300 new houses on Hollin Lane and Langley Lane in Middleton.

The developments would be a combination of mews, detached and semi-detached properties consisting of two, three and four bed houses.

Approximately 115 homes would be built on Langley Lane, and around 193 built on Hollin Lane.

Work to start building properties is expected to commence in spring 2017, with completion of the first home expected by summer of the same year.

Taylor Wimpey is preparing to submit further details to Rochdale Borough Council, as part of an agreed ‘reserved matters application’ - local residents will be consulted about the information submitted.

A spokesperson from Taylor Wimpey said: “We are delighted to confirm that Rochdale Council has approved our outline planning applications for the development of the land off Hollin Lane and Langley Lane, in Middleton.

“We believe that our scheme will be a positive addition to the area, and will provide significant economic and social benefits.

“We now look forward to working closely with the Council and the local community to submit a detailed planning application, and hope to launch these much-needed new homes to the public in the not-too-distant future.”
