The Beach offers to feed four lonely people this Christmas
Date published: 02 November 2016
The Beach is offering a four-course meal and drinks to anyone who will be spending Christmas alone.
Daniel Rushton, who recently took over the pub/restaurant at Hollingworth Lake, said: “I think it’s a nice thing to do, I’ve always done it in every pub I’ve owned.
“I love Christmas, no one should be alone at this time of year. Pubs used to be community hubs and I want to reintroduce that.”
Mr Rushton has contacted Age Concern but has so far only filled one of four positions at the table: “The offer is open to people of all ages. I’ve even offered to pick up those who may struggle to get here.”
