Ella Chadwick met Nicole Scherzinger after singing with her at SSE Arena, Wembley

Date published: 01 November 2016

Ella Chadwick, who was born with a rare congenital disorder, met Nicole Scherzinger after performing with The Rays of Sunshine Charity Wish Choir at SSE Arena, Wembley on 24 October.

Ella, who says she wasn’t scared about singing in front of everyone, sang the final line of Fight Song as a solo, ‘I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me’, which mum Karen Hughes says is a "very fitting line and song".

Ella’s mum, Karen, said: “After the performance we were invited to Nicole’s dressing room where Ella also met Joe Jonas and Shawn Mendes. It was a very surreal moment.

The nine-year-old was invited into the Granada Reports studio last week to talk about the choir’s renditions of ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ by Diana Ross, and Rachel Platten’s ‘Fight Song’ with former Pussycat Doll, Nicole.

Ella told Granada Reports that Nicole was 'just wonderful' and that her favourite part was 'singing Fight Song’.

Mum Karen said: “Ella loved going to ITV Studios and Tony and Lucy were lovely.”

Ella was born with the rare congenital Nephrotic syndrome, which resulted in having both kidneys removed.

In 2014, Ella received a life-saving kidney from her gran, just two years after a kidney donated by dad Martin was rejected.

She took her first steps unaided in June last year.
