Town Hall bells to fall silent
Date published: 04 August 2016
Rochdale Town Hall clock
Rochdale Town Hall bells will fall silent from 15-24 August - for essential repair work.
In 1929 two bells were restored. In 1982 the bells and framework were repaired.
The work about to be carried out should mean the famous chimes will ring out across Rochdale town centre and beyond for decades to come.
