Date published: 09 October 2005

Police in Heywood were called to Bury New Road in the early hours of Friday 7 October 2005, following reports a car had been in collision with a house.

Officers attended at around 1.45am and found a blue Fiat Punto, which had been in collision with a wall, front door and window of a house. The driver ran away from the scene before police arrived.

A 32-year-old man from Heywood was arrested around thirty minutes later, at approximately 2.15am, under section 4 of the Road Traffic Act, on suspicion of drink driving.  The man was not injured and did not require hospital treatment.

No one in the house was injured and investigations are ongoing.
