Officers from the neighbourhood team have served a notice to leave to the travellers
The travellers who set up camp on the car park at Dunelm in Rochdale Town Centre on Thursday have been served with an eviction notice.
Police officers from the neighbourhood team served a notice to leave to the travellers that they are unlawfully camped on Dunelm Car Park.
They had until 4.30pm today (Saturday 9 July 2016) to leave.
Inspector Colin MacDiarmid said: “Working in partnership with Rochdale Council and local businesses we have today served an eviction notice under section 61 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act which requires the group to leave the site today.
“I’d like to thank the local community and businesses for their patience and support in handling this matter.”
