Hamer Community Primary School

On Wednesday 12 May 2016, Years 5 and 4 had a fantastic visit from the Parliamentary Outreach programme. The children were fully engaged with an insightful assembly where they learnt all about the Houses of Parliament before taking part in a range of debates, just like they would do in the House of Commons. However, we are not sure if the bill suggesting that some assemblies are performed as a rap will be passed.

The Year 2 children will have their SATs assessments in class over the next two weeks. The teachers are so proud of their achievements this year and the tests are administered informally and with the familiar teachers in the KS1 Unit.

Two letters went home on Thursday 12 May to the children and families of Year 6, celebrating their efforts and brilliant home-school support. These are on the website should anyone wish to read them.

Well done to the Year 2 children for participating in the IPLCN Athletics meet at St Andrews ON Thursday 12th May. The children had a great time, participated well and behaved as beautifully as ever.

There will be a non – uniform day on Friday 20 May and the 50p voluntary contribution for coming in non-uniform will raise money for both the Mayor’s Charity and our School Council

The opportunity now exists for children from LKS2 to have extra booster classes in the last part of the year. Thank you to Miss Holden for offering extra classes and giving up two mornings. Anyone who is attending will have had a letter about this. It is not for all children, but targeted support for some. Thank you if you are a family supporting a child who will attend.
