A panicked woman asked the police to save her bacon after discovering a “giant pig” in her garden this morning (Monday 11 April).
Officers arrived at the address on Lilac Avenue, Newhey, at 7.30am after calls that the oversized farm animal had escaped from a nearby farm and was refusing to leave her yard.
The pig, described by the woman as a “beast”, was logged in police reports as being a very large animal and they managed to coax it out of the garden about an hour later.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We received a call at 7.36 this morning after a giant pig was found in the woman’s garden. It appears he escaped from a farm but was obviously causing alarm. Eventually he was taken back without any damage being caused.”
