Celebrating success and volunteering spirit at Deeplish Play Scheme

This year’s Easter Play scheme celebrated the success of their volunteer’s efforts and recognition in providing active, safer and stimulating environment for all participants.

Children received best behaviour and participation awards from local leaders. Volunteers received awards for being involved over 15 years in supporting, organizing and running Deeplish Play scheme.

Attita Malik, Shagufta Jabeen and Shaista Nawaz were the senior volunteers. They have been involved in Deeplish Play Scheme for over 15 years and its remarkable success where children have been in best care and enjoyable learning and fun based play over years.

Attiya Mailk, senior co-ordinator said: “We are pleased and proud to be involved in such a successful and worthy scheme for local children. It’s always good to see many children participating in fun based activities and making new friends and developing confidence in learning and play.”

The scheme was fully supported by staff and volunteers at Deeplish Community Centre and funded by RADPAC, for two week period and provided a stimulating environment for the children and young people.

Representatives of Rochdale Council presented awards to play scheme volunteers for their volunteering and community work for local charity and community organisations. They also encouraged and thanked young volunteers for their positive participation and running of successful play scheme.

Sohail Ahmad, Manager at Deeplish Community Centre, said: “We are very proud to promote play scheme offering diverse range of activities for children and young people.

“I am pleased to see children reaching their full potential, staying safe and enjoying at all time.”
