A `Dementia Does Not Discriminate` campaign has been launched by Rochdale and District Mind. The campaign is aimed at raising awareness about Dementia.
The launch event was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress, Surinder and Cecile Biant, who helped to launch the promotional 'Dementia Does Not Discriminate' poster, which will be displayed throughout Rochdale, Heywood, Middleton and Pennines.
Thirty people signed up as dementia friends.
A spokesperson said: "We would like to harness Rochdale’s 'pioneer’ spirit and encourage more people to become dementia friends and make Rochdale a 'dementia friendly' borough."
One in fourteen people over 65 has dementia at any one time.
