There were around 160 young volunteers who came together to form the School Games Crew. The School Games Crew underwent training before the event, with some gaining qualifications to ensure they could help deliver the events with the National Governing Body of their sport.

Matt Stocks, Development Manager (Children & Young People) at GreaterSport and part of the organising committee for the games commented: “It was fantastic to see so many schools from across Greater Manchester taking part. After speaking to the young people, it clarified what I truly believe about the event, it is a great opportunity for young people to get involved in sport, increase their confidence and, for some of them, have a life changing effect.

"The standard of the individuals taking part and the volunteers was incredible and it is great to see such excitement at the 10th Greater Manchester School Games. Greater Manchester really does have a phenomenal amount of talent and I’m sure for many this is just the start of their sporting journey.”
