The Witnesses provided superb entertainment at a Heywood and Middleton Constituency Labour Party fundraiser held at Woolworths Social Club tonight (Saturday 5 March).

Watched by Liz McInnes MP, ward councillors, Labour party activists and supporters, the band rolled back the years with an electic mix of rock and roll, rhythm and blues and country music, plus original material written by band.

Liz McInnes described The Witnesses as "brill" and said she felt "blessed" to have them playing at the Labour party fundraiser. She added: “Great band with a good mix of music.

"Good to see so many people here enjoying themselves, having fun and raising money.”

Gerry O'Gorman, of The Witnesses, said: “Great turnout for a worthwhile cause. Good to see everyone together, a mix of ages and tastes. Most of the audience are of an age when they have probably been to see some very famous bands live – so it’s a lot to live up too.”
