Dust off those trainers and get ready for the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile 2016 on Sunday 20 March.

Link4Life is once again organising the Rochdale Millipede Mile in Broadfield Park to support this year's Sport Relief fundraiser.

One of over 450 mile events to be organised up and down the country, there is the choice of completing one, three or six miles and, as the Rochdale course stays on paths inside the park, it's a real family occasion.

Link4Life co-ordinator, Elaine Stott said: "We hope this year's Rochdale Millipede Mile will be another big success as local people young and old, running or walking, help to raise money for this great cause. Last time our 100 places were all snapped up and the atmosphere was fantastic."

The three and six mile events both set off at 1.30pm with the one mile following at 2pm. Participants can collect their numbers from 1pm. We’ll have our obstacle course available to keep the children busy – depending on the weather of course!

  • Do it with friends, family or head to toe in fancy dress and really make your Mile count by getting sponsored every step of the way
  • Get sponsored to take on your mates, try beating the clock or do it as part of a team. You’ll raise big cheers and even bigger bucks
  • At almost 10K this is your chance to up the pace and prove you can go the distance to get sponsored and raise some serious cash.

Registration for the event is in advance. Individuals or teams can enter online at www.sportrelief.com/events/mile - search for Rochdale to enter the Millipede Mile.

The entry fee goes towards covering the costs of staging events across the UK and Comic Relief is committed to making sure that every pound raised through sponsorship goes towards helping to transform the lives of people dealing with poverty and social injustice.
