Claire Minett braves cameras for Channel 4’s The Undateables

Date published: 22 January 2016

Claire Minett faced the TV cameras for Channel 4’s matchmaking documentary The Undateables in the hope of finding true love.

The 37-year-old, from Smithy Bridge, said she was nervous in front of the cameras but “enjoyed every minute” of the show, which coupled her up with, David, an autistic magician from Essex, in the hope that they would hit it off.

Before the big date, Claire said: “Apparently love is the closest thing that we have to magic, so perhaps I’m hoping for that.”

Speaking to Rochdale Online News after the showing on Tuesday (19 January), Claire said: “It is such a strange feeling to have a date when you’ve got cameras all around you. I was quite nervous at first but I enjoyed every minute. David was a lovely man, a real gentleman. It was funny because no sooner had we sat down and started our date, he just started singing. He was romantic and very sweet. It was a really fun experience.”

Unable to disclose if there will be a second date, Claire says that we will just have to keep a look out for the up and coming episodes of the show.

The Undateables is a British reality documentary show that has aired on Channel 4 since 3 April 2012. The series follows adults with disabilities or learning difficulties on dates. The most recent series started in January this year (2016).
