The event will offer information on lots of topics such as; accessible housing, equipment, transport, benefits, carers rights, direct payments, training, sports and leisure, health, jobs and the world of work. 30 different organisations will be there to help you including
representatives from:

  • Royal National Institute for the Deaf
  • Ford Motability Scheme
  • The Carers Resource
  • Middleton Disablement Information and Advice Line
  • Rochdale Council's Handy Person scheme
  • New Heart for Heywood Community Transport
  • Real Deal
  • Rochdale Borough Community Equipment Service
  • The Passport to Leisure Scheme
  • Job Centre Plus
  • Kick Start the disability sports group
  • Comple@t Internet Cafe
  • Hopwood Hall College
  • Gateway
  • Rochdale and District Disability Action Group
  • The Disabled Drivers Association

There will be easy access to all the stalls and you can talk to advisors face to face. The day has been organised by Gill Elsworth, the development worker for Rochdale Borough Joint Investment Plan (JIP), a welfare to work scheme for the disabled.  From talking to many disabled people Gill found they were unaware of how much information is actually available and where they can get help and support to lead full, active and healthy lives.

Support workers and a BSL Interpreter will be available and at lunch time there will be light refreshments and entertainment. Why not come along and see what we can do for you?
