My Chocolate Explosion, a local supplier of specialised chocolate bouquets, is selling their mouth-watering confectionery in the Rochdale Online Department Store.

The bouquets, which are made up of a variety of chocolate bars, are great gift ideas for birthdays, Christmas, congratulations, Easter and many other celebration occasions. The bouquets can also be used as centre pieces for weddings.

Carol Thompson, from My Chocolate Explosion, said: “We have had people asking us to make chocolate bouquets for wedding centre pieces so instead of individual favours, people can just pick off a chocolate bar and help themselves.”

Carol signed up to the Rochdale Online Department Store to leverage large audience of Rochdale Online and to promote her business.

She added: “I got an email about the store and thought I would have a look. After having a look I thought it was a good idea and decided to give it a go. The website that we use is controlled by someone else so I thought this would be a good way to get us out there to a larger audience.”

My Chocolate Explosion is part of a franchise with Carol covering the Rochdale and Oldham area. Carol began making the bouquets about four years ago and believes they are a very popular product.

“They are really good for gifts and things. People tend to buy them for birthdays and Christmas because they are something a bit different,” added Carol.

Bouquets bought through My Chocolate Explosion can be collected from the Feel Good Café or can be delivered. Each bouquet contains a variety of different chocolate as well as gift wrapping and a free message card.

The Rochdale Online Department Store currently has 44 local retailers using the site with new retailers signing up on a daily basis.

“I am pleased that I decided to get involved with the store. It is a really good idea and a really good platform for businesses. This is something I have wanted to do for a while so it’s a good chance for me to finally do it,” said Carol.
