Leading Ladies, a ladies fashion boutique selling the latest styles and trends, is part of the Rochdale Online Department Store.

The boutique is run by Danni Sharrocks.

Danni said: “I thought it would be a good way to get my name out there a bit more and to let people know a bit more about the boutique. I think it is also a good way to get the boutique online which is something we hadn’t done before signing up to the store.”

As well as using the store to reach a wider customer base, Danni has taken the opportunity to register her own domain name and is using that domain name to point online customers directly to the Leading Ladies page of the Rochdale Online Department Store.

“I think having your own domain name looks good when you are trying to promote yourself and doing it this is the most cost effective way,” said Danni.

By having her own domain name, Danni can now promote her boutique via a domain name she has confidence in whilst already having the traffic generated by Rochdale Online.

She therefore now has a website with all of the ecommerce functionality needed to sell online and has the traffic crucial to selling her products. Her website is also advertised and promoted and this has simply cost her the price of a domain name –
not thousands of pounds for a website.

Danni added: “I don’t think I could have got my own domain name or website without the help of Rochdale Online and the department store. Rochdale Online has a big following already so it was the best way to get what I needed.”

Leading Ladies currently has a number of items listed within the store including dresses, jackets and blouses. Some of those items sold by leading ladies can often be seen worn by celebrities including ex Coronation Street actress
Michelle Keegan.

Retailers have commented on the ease of using the Rochdale Online Department Store and Danni is no different.

She said: “I am very pleased I signed up to the department store. “It is spot on. It is easy to use and I think it is good that people have the pick up point in Rochdale Town Centre. It is good that there are no charges to list products and then there is only a very small fee when something is bought. So far, so good.”
