Sweet and Yummy Gifts in Heywood have embraced the new Rochdale Online Department Store.

The shop, which specialises in sweets and gifts currently, has over 150 products listed in the store for those with a sweet tooth to buy and enjoy.

Brandon Avellanet from Sweet and Yummy Gifts said: “We thought the shop would be a really good way to boost sales in the community and thought it was a really good idea because it is all under Rochdale Online, a well known name in the area.”

Shoppers who want to indulge in sweets can take a walk down memory lane and buy sweets from their childhood including midget gems, cough candy and bon bons as well as a variety of other sweets including hard boiled sweets, packaged sweets and sugar free sweets.

Chocolate is also on offer in the form of milk chocolate eggs, milk chocolate footballs and pink pigs.

Sweets are sold in 200g bags and are often sent out to be delivered on the same day. One shopper who bought some midget gems to remind her of her childhood favourites said: “I just saw them and instantly wanted to buy them because I remember them from when I was younger. It is great to be able to buy something you enjoy locally and online.”

Brandon added: “We aren’t even half way there with the sweets. We have lots more to offer but we have found it really easy to upload everything and use the store so it hasn’t been an issue uploading the whole lot.”

As well as individual sweet bags to satisfy your sweet tooth, the Rochdale Online Department store also has gift and selection packs listed. These are great little gifts for people who you may struggle to buy presents for.

One shopper who bought a ‘My Little Sweet Shop’ said: “The service was absolutely fantastic and the gift is great. It all comes packaged and ready and is perfect to give to someone.”

Brandon added: “We do things for weddings as well like favours and I think we will start to add them over the coming weeks once we have everything else up.”

Not having a limit to the amount of products that could be uploaded was also an opportunity that the shop could not turn down.

“I think it is good that we can put on as much as we can without being stopped. We are at over 150 products listed at the minute and we have plenty more to come,” said Brandon.

The Rochdale Online Department store offers local retailers the chance to sell their products online and encourages the buy local ethos.

Brandon added: “We have had a few orders since the shop was launched and we think it is great idea for people to get involved with. We wanted to boost ourselves within the community and further and I think we are doing that now.”
