Hopwood Hall Community Fun Day
Hopwood Hall College and University Centre is once again holding its free Community Fun Day – and you’re invited!
The much-anticipated annual event will take place at the college’s sprawling Middleton Campus from 11am-3pm on Saturday 8 June.
Just like in previous years where thousands have flocked for the festivities, there’s a whole host of exciting activities lined up for visitors to enjoy.
There really is something for everyone – from grandchildren to grandparents and everyone in between.
Those who attend can look forward to experiencing some of the rare and wonderful wildlife that’s cared for in the animal enclosures at Hopwood.
This includes the amazing opportunity to meet the college’s colourful lorikeets and enjoy wallaby keeper talks!
There are loads of action-packed activities for visitors to take part in or simply watch from the sidelines.
Just some of these include mini golf, penalty shootouts, samba dancing and the chance to ride on the eventing simulator used by learners studying Equine Care.
There are also some quirkier activities on the line-up such as calligraphy, a ‘whodunnit’ crime scene, virtual reality demos and a radio controlled F1 track.
This, of course, is in addition to many old favourites such as face painting, quizzes, competitions and live music.
Hopwood’s Middleton Campus is surrounded by 70-acres of woodland and makes for the perfect place to hold such an event.
There will be free parking offered on the day, but it will be limited so anyone looking to drive is encouraged to arrive early.
However, there are also numerous public transport links that make the campus easy to get to.
The Community Fun Day is free to all and promises to be the ultimate family day out.
Last year’s event saw people coming from all across Rochdale and neighbouring boroughs to experience the fun during a gloriously sunny day.
