Try out courses and meet the animals at the Hopwood Hall College Community Fun Day

Hopwood Hall College is inviting all the family to a community fun day at their Middleton campus on Saturday 11 June.
Taking place between 11.00am – 3.00pm, there will be the opportunity to try out our courses and apply for September, as well as meet the animals including alpacas, Shetland ponies, ferrets, goats, sheep, eagle owls, pigs, rabbits and the mischievous meerkats.
We’ve also got pony rides and you can bring your own dog to take part in our dog show!
The event is FREE but donations are welcome. Proceeds will be split between Springhill Hospice and towards the building of new animal facilities.
Take a look at some of the activities our students and tutors will be running on the day:
- Gingerbread and cupcake decorating
- Bouncy castle, gladiator podiums and a young children’s zone in our barn
- Dog shows (bring your own pooch!)
- Treasure hunt
- Face painting
- Nails and hair styling
- Dental health and hygiene using giant teeth
- Royal Navy and Uniformed Services exercises
- Various sporting activities inc. penalty shoot-out, assault course, 5-a-side football, fitness tests
- Animal health checks
- Alpacas, pygmy goats, and a horse display show. Plus exotic and small mammal handling
- Plant sales from our home grown stock
- Hopwood Theatre tours
- Bag printing
- Barbeque run by catering staff and students providing food and drinks for sale
- Additionally we have our main college charity attending, Springhill Hospice, plus the Wildlife Trust will be available too
- Media students will be filming and interviewing willing attendees throughout the day
Our Technology Centre will be open for a look round and will be running activities in:
- Carpentry & Joinery
- Motor vehicle
- Brickwork
- Lighting circuit workshop
- Electrical Engineering 555 timer workshop
- Painting & Decorating
