Brown's Cakes crowned best dressed Christmas window

Date published: 16 December 2014

Brown's Cakes has been crowned the best dressed Christmas window for the second year running in Rochdale Town Centre.

Shops and businesses in Rochdale town centre took part in the annual Christmas Window Dressing Competition and dressed their windows in a Christmas theme.

Owner Natasha Brown was delighted to regain her crown and said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won the Christmas Window Dressing Competition again this year. We get a lot of traffic along St Mary’s Gate and like to ensure our window is noticed by all who pass by. The publicity will help us to promote our business and it’s lovely to be recognised for our efforts.”

The FMC Design Factory was highly commended and St Vincent’s Charity Shop were commended for their efforts.

The judging panel included Councillor Sultan Ali and Mark Foxley from Rochdale Town Centre Management Company.

Councillor Ali said: “I was very proud to be asked to judge the Christmas window dressing competition in Rochdale town centre and it was splendid to see the amount of effort many of the shops had put in. It certainly brightens up the town puts us in the festive spirit”

Mark Foxley also said: “The competition was organised by Economic Affairs as part of Small Business Saturday, well done to all who entered and congratulations to Browns Cakes. Thanks also to everyone who supported Small Business Saturday this year. Rochdale has some fantastic independent small businesses”
