Pringle Accountants in Rochdale has been selected as one of 100 small businesses who are championing Small Business Saturday.

The chartered accountants, owned by Ruth Pringle, was chosen by those behind Small Business Saturday because of her enthusiasm for the event and the occasion.

Speaking to Rochdale Online, Ruth said: “I wanted to get involved with Small Business Saturday because I am a small business and you have to make the most of these opportunities.”

To be considered to be included in the 100 businesses, Ruth had to apply and explain why she should be included, a bit about her business and what she will do on Small Business Saturday.

Once the 100 businesses were selected, one business is being promoted every day through the Small Business Saturday website.

“We were promoted on 30 October so information about the business and what we do was included on the website and things so that has gained some promotion for us,” added Ruth.

Ruth has also been invited to go to 10 Downing Street as part of the event. She said: “The 100 businesses all get invited to Downing Street so I am going there on Friday 5 December so I am really looking forward to that.”

On Saturday 6 December, Ruth will be holding an Open Business event which will take place at Number One Riverside. The event will see Ruth offering free accountancy advice to those who need it.

Promoting Small Business Saturday, which takes place on Saturday 6 December, Ruth said: “I think people should shop with small businesses not only on Small Business Saturday but every day because they care. My clients matter to me and it is because of them that I have a business so I really do have an affection for them.”
