The Yearsley Group has raised an amazing £10,000 for the new children’s hospice in Radcliffe, Grace’s Place, in under 12 months.
Each year the employees of the frozen food specialists based at Heywood selected a charity close to their hearts, to which donations will be made from events held throughout the year.
As a family run business who celebrates their 60th anniversary next year, the company is keen to give back to the local community and therefore Grace’s Place was chosen for 2014.
Staff raised the grand total of £10,000 for the charity by taking part in a number of events including TheBupa Great Manchester Run, clothes drive, name the bear competition, sport sweepstakes and The Three Peaks Challenge in July. The daring group of employees climbed the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in under 24 hours.
Harry Yearsley, Managing Director at Yearsley Group, said: "The enthusiasm, dedication and generosity of each of our staff amaze me each and every year."
It’s vital we raise money for charities like Grace’s Place, a much needed new service in North West Manchester. These facilities will provide the necessary care and support to terminally ill children in their final days."
Jacqui Comber, Chief Executive, Grace’s Place, said: "We’d like to thank the staff at Yearsley Group who took part in the fundraising activities. The support of local businesses is vital to us.
"The wonderful donation will help Grace’s Place provide palliative and end of life care for children from Oldham, Rochdale, Middleton, Heywood and Bury."
